We are a mature Scottish couple in the prime of our lives. We immigrated to New Zealand with our small daughter back in the 60′s and we have always been interested in natural health and holistic healing.
I am Kate and I was brought up in a Homeopathic family, my husband Bill has always been interested in natural healing and herbal medicines, and has been a Vegetarian for over 40 years.
My mother-in-law was also interested in natural healing and herbal medicines and was just four months off her 100th birthday when she passed away.
We have a large family, one daughter is a Natural Therapist and another member of our family is training in Nutrition.
Over the years I have tended to struggle with my weight, allergies, asthma, and bowel problems.
I have always known that I had allergies, and as a child I was allergic to House Mites, cat fur and many other common allergies. This caused me to be a Chronic Asthmatic.
Some years ago after being introduced to Network Marketing, we discovered a company who has all of the attributes and products we had been looking for. We were at this stage not looking for an income, only to be able to buy the type of products we required for our health and for the health of our planet.
At the time of finding this company I was not in the best of health due to a bad bought of food poisoning, see my article on “Living with Allergies” and finding this company was a god send as far as I am concerned.
Asthma is now in the past, due I am sure to the supplements I have been taking over the past ten years.
Bill as I have said has always been interested in herbal medicine and has a Certificate in Natural Healthcare from the Herbal Education Resources Centre N.Z. he has also done his training as a therapist via Enlightened Therapies. I often feel he should have trained as a homeopath rather than an engineer.
We were involved in network marketing before being introduced to the company we are now with. We will be forever grateful to the Naturopath who was treating me way back in 1999 for I.B.S. for that introduction to the amazing products and company. The personal development we have received has also changed our lives. It is changing both of us and has also changed members of our family. We just wish we had been introduced to this earlier in life and wish that we had known these things that we have learned and am learning when our children were young so that we could have taught them, but no point in looking back we must only look forward and ensure that everything we are learning now is passed on as best we can to the adult children we have and to the next generations (our grand children and great-grandchildren) of whom we have many..
We are fairly passionate people. Passionate about health, life, our family, and being responsible.
When I was so sick and we were introduced to the company we are now with, my husband took it upon himself to research everything he could to try and find out what was causing all of my problems. Finding out about the toxins in many of the general household products was something that amazed us. This is an area that we have now done a lot of research, including finding out about Holistic Dentistry and the damage Amalgam fillings can do. I have had all my amalgam fillings removed.
We use herbal supplements and have removed as many of the toxic substances from our home as we can. We do realise that we cannot live in a bubble with no toxins around us but we do our utmost to restrict our exposure to harmful ingredients and toxic substances.
Life is worth living and we wish to live long and healthy.
When we leave this life we want it to be with no regrets. We want to have fulfilled all of our dreams. We want to leave a legacy. We want to make a difference in other people’s lives. We want to be the grandparents who have had a positive impact on our grandchildren and great grandchildren so that when they remember us, it is because we helped them realise that they are amazing, they are special and that can do whatever, be whatever and have whatever they want in their lives.
Both of us had grandmothers who had a big influence on our lives, we also know that our own children, albeit that they are all adults now have been influenced by their grandmothers, even if some of the teachings we are now passing on to our grandchildren are a bit different from the teachings of the previous generation, we do wish to leave a marked impression.
